More than 170 Student-Led Clubs on Display at NHS' Club Fair

Northville High School students were invited to walk around the Aux Gym and learn about the more than 170 student-led clubs at this year's Club Fair.

Basically we had a big Club Fair kind of in the auxiliary gym and I think it's really nice because students can kind of just decide what they want to do and kind of what kind of clubs they want to start. And so everybody has a chance to express themselves and do something fun with other people from school.There's a lot more people than I expected and it's not even just all like freshman it's kind of kids from like a mix of grades so it's really like important for them to be able to see all the clubs kind of not just online but to see the posters and talk to the people who like own the club. The main reason I came was also to just get more involved with the school through clubs. I feel like being a well-rounded person is so important and like having not only sports and academics like back in your back pocket, clubs are a really great way to like become more of a well-rounded person. I also have a few friends who have made clubs of their own and they're running them so I want to support them as well and then other causes that I'm passionate about. I thought it was interesting to see how there's so many different clubs that you know everybody has their own spot they can go to. If you ever feel out of place you can definitely find your place with the clubs here. So this is the NHS BBQ club. We started this club to kind of like build a community and share our love of barbecue with the rest of the school and yeah this is our first year so we obviously have a lot of enthusiasm and excitement going into it. I think it's really nice that students kind of just they get to choose what they want to have as like their own club and everyone gets to join it. So it's kind of more open thing it's not very closed off and I think it's nice that people can start the clubs that they actually want to. So they kind of like vary based on culture, religion, skills, academics like there's all sorts of clubs. Like I know the people who do fundraising like charity based, friends of mine who run clubs like that and there's MSA which I'm a Muslim myself and I find it so like heartwarming that I can find a place and make new friends who are Muslims just like me and you can also find based on like your your demographic, like it doesn't matter. So skill, culture, religion whatever it is, you can find your own club here.
