Art Exhibit Season Kicks Off for Northville Public Schools

Each Spring, many of our schools put together elaborate art exhibits showcasing our student's works of art that they have worked on all school year.

 

NHS IB Art Exhibition: March 21-April 1
This exhibition features artwork created by 28 students enrolled in Northville High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Visual Art experience. The students install a selection of their best works in the Northville Art House gallery, each with thoughtfully written object labels. In the program, students developed problem-solving skills and proficiency as artists by exploring and experimenting in a variety of contemporary practices and media. First held in 1999, this year’s Northville Public Schools Student Virtual Art Exhibition features 21 artworks by 12 artists in Grades 9 – 12. The public is invited to view the exhibition on the Northville Art House website and share their comments on the work and exhibition. Participating Artists include: Aurelia Calabrese, David DiNick, Dime Fermanis, Lily Gerlach, Saachi Gulati, Amy Krause, Jaden Laba, Laura Lalev, Evelyn Leicht, Chloe Mattison, Janet Tian, and Jennie Wei. On Thursday, April 20th from 5:30-7:30pm, the Early Childhood Education Program will be hosting a Children's Art Exhibit. The event will be outside at Old Village School. There will be dessert trucks on site for purchase along with music by Kevin Devine. We will be accepting non-perishable food item donations for Northville's Civic Concern, which can be dropped off at the welcome table.

 

 

All six of our elementary schools will be hosting art shows for their Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade artists looking to share their creativity with you this spring. Please save the date (more info to follow close to the show)!

2nd Grade: Wednesday, May 3 @ 6:30pm

4th Grade: Thursday, May 4, McMaster, Wayne and Robinson @ 5:30pm and Harnett and Vertrees @ 6:30pm
