On March 3, 2023, Michigan State Representative Matt Koleszar surprised Meads Mill Middle School teacher Dunya Sandiha with the Teacher of the Month award!
Ms. Sandiha teaches English and said she was completely surprised by the award and didn't know anything about it. Sandiha said a parent nominated her.
"After hearing from community members about your incredible work ethic, positive attitude, and great work with students in and outside the classroom, it is obvious you are incredibly deserving of this special recognition. Your colleagues describe you as a phenomenal teacher with a passion for all of your students. I was especially impressed to hear of your ability to connect to students on an individual level," stated State Representative Matt Koleszar.
